    Game 8:

    Sizemore: vs Rangers (4/8), 3 for 4, 1 R Team lost

    Ellsbury: vs Orioles (4/8), 3 for 4, 1 R 1 SB Team lost

    **Cumulative Score (Thru Game 9)

    Sizemore 1

    Ellsbury 7

    Rules:

    2. If both players put up similar numbers but not identical, followings will be the factors to determine the winner.

(Team's win, contribution to team's win, winning HR, hit, R etc.)

    3. If both players put up identicak numbers, Rule# 2 factors will be applied to determine the winner

great thread.  i love it.  of course they will be facing different teams/pitchers so it will never be "apples to apples" but it should even out over the full season.

Exactly slasher.  Both play in the same division and will closely even out throughout the season.

what if player A has the game off.

player B is in the lineup and goes 0-4 with 3k's, 3 RISP and team loses.

is player B still the W for that day?

I feel like player B should at least have a Sac / BB to get the W.

I like it too. Will be good to see where this turns out.

Slash, you are asking way too much! We hope these two can stay on the field. That, in itself, is a victory.Sealed

I'm taking Ells. He'll score more runs which is what a Lead-off batter is suppose to do.

Not every games for Size and Jake are on the same day just like their game 1.  If player A is unable to play the next game because of the injury or just a timeoff but player B plays, then I think player B deserves W simply because he was able to stay on the field and even if player B goes 0-4 with 3K, he should be helping the team defensively.  These two players are gold glovers.

well we lost and grady gets a win??? love that guy playing for us now that ells have moved on but didnt he have a chance to actually win/tie the game late and failed?

Also after hearing all last season by many here that SDREW can not have his missed games counted against him because he was hurt we now say that if Ells gets hurt he "loses"? What if he gets drilled in the head or snaps a leg? or gets steamrolled by beltre and breaks his entire diaphram?
