    The point of it is that it supports my contention that it was primarily Cherington who insisted that Bard remain a SP even though he was failing at it-until he was ruined in any role as a pitcher, and over the objections of Valentine.

    So the plan is to straighten him out by not pitching him?  Nothing rights an athlete like making him sit on the bench and think about his failures...
