Every time the Yankees lose a game, there's some bozo who feels a need to start a thread to spread short lived juvenile smack. In fact, I was going to start a thread myself saying "I'll spare someone the trouble". When I logged in just know, I was thinking "Where's that thread?". No surprise. And when the Yankees win, silence. -

Well, this is a Red Sox board Steven. Just because we happen to cheer for the right team doesn't mean we don't have our fair share of juvenile delinquents. -

Posted by carnieA valid point. Except I never saw this perpetual stupdity on a Yankee board, the few times I was there. I'd rather read Softy, at least he's intelligent, and funny, if not stubborn about his misconceptions. -

According to Michael Kay the Yanks lost because the umpire neglected to grant a requested timeout by the batter on the game's last pitch. The batter then lost his timing and concentration and grounded to shortstop with the tying run on third. George Steinbrenner would have been furious and cut off his donations to the umpire's pension plan. -

Posted by Your-EchoUmpire mishaps are part of the game, just like in any sport; try telling that here. As far as conspiracy theories are concerned, that's just an excuse some RS fans like to vent when things don't go their way. Other fans may complain about the umpires, but not to that extent. I could just imagine what would be posted here if it happened to them, especially if the Yankees were the opponent. -

What's more off-putting here with nh's posts: the cranky know-it-all tone or the ad hominem attacks? The usual purview signifying an unhappy mind. Geez, fork out the cash & get yourself laid man. -

As soon as one of these Red Sox "fans" figure out who they can put the blame on for the loss.Francona would probably be the first person they target. -

It is true that many of the posters, who are perceived to be Red Sox fans, come here after a loss and need to scapegoat someone whether it is the players, manager, or the FO. I single them out and am critical of them or else suspect them of being trolls. On both counts this puts me into the doghouse of Harness who will whip out his "free speech" sermon. "Free Speech" also allows me to call supposed fans as being fair-weather, cynical, pessimistic, skeptical, pessimistic for 95% of their posts. A true fan should be joyful once in awhile IMO. Free speech also permits me to label a troll as a troll when I arrive at that conclusion. Harness wants no part of my need to tell it like it is because doing so might decrease the traffic to his forum and then he would be whistling while walking through the forum at 3 a.m. -

I have no problem with nhsteven. He's a good poster. He can't help it that he's a Yanks fan. Maybe Michelle Bachmann has a clinic for that also but until then he's going to have to just gut it out! JK NHSteven!
The Yanks have been staying right there with us for a long time now. The season is not nearly over.
What we all know happens though is that when the Redsox lose, especially against the Yanks, there are 10 pro yankees smack threads on the home page within seconds. In all honesty, I think we are more polite about it that most Yankee fans. It seems to be a complete obsession with some Yanks fans, with their entire self image wrapped up in their Yanks fandom. And why you guys put up with Michael Kay I will never understand. What an imbecile. -

go to the yanks board...they are blaming the manager...posada....aj....granderson....and gardner....maybe more except I dont want to go back and look. Now I admit that I visit their board once in a while but never post there. Not sure why so many yankee fans seem a need to camp out here and post the same old crap everyday -

I don't know about the fans, but listen to the Rays announcers and your would swear the Yankees and Red Sox have the umpires on their payroll. I have never heard announcers complain about the umps more than those guys (at least the radio guys). -

And gloat I will! http://youtu.be/rX7wtNOkuHo If you don't like it, go to that "civil" Yankees board you speak of and commiserate with your fellow Pinstripers. Like I'm gonna go to a Yankees chatboard and lecture them about how to behave.
Posted by Sheriff-RojasYes, you do this too. You certainly speak your mind, and now I shall speak mine, in the mode of going to your level, by being over the top, so to speak. It's doubtful, barring an unforeseen calamity, that the Yankees shall NOT make the playoffs. Ditto the RS. And in that case, I have no qualms about who the favorite would be in the PS. However, be very afraid. -
