    Ortiz MVP

Did anyone have any doubts? This has almost been going on for a decade. This guy is just incredible. Who is more "on" than he is in the post season -- on ANY team? If he doesn't get into the Hall it would be a crime.

Absolutely outstanding time and time again. Where would we be without him?

Hard not to pick Papi, but pitching is vital, also. Lester and Lackey were both outstanding and were also worthy of MVP status.

    [/QUOTE]

Nothing wrong with having too many players to choose from, but IMO Ortiz is the heart and soul of the team, and got the team going with him. Hands down best choice.

Lester was terrific. A great all around team effort. Plenty of praise to go around. David Ortiz is the MVP without any doubt.

    "Did anyone have any doubts?"

    Well, Bill806 mostly. )

    Papi was amazing.

Worthy MVP arguments for Lester and Koji also. Cardinals helped to get Papi the MVP by insisting on pitching to him, but it's all good. His batting average and leadership was amazing.

Not to mention his electric speech after the bombings.

Papi is a hero in this town and rightly so. Statue time.

Again, he should get in the Hall of Fame. If it's about him being a DH and so it can't be done, the rule should be changed in his case. It's just beyond that at this point.

Bill, softy and jackbu all wrote him off by the 3rd month of the season. Bill is trying very hard to save face...Not happening. They were wrong all season with their multiple threads about papi being "DONE" and blasting him for every bad game. God forbid he go 0-12 at some point. They were all over him. Pathetic and sad. So they can all go eat crow by themselves.

There were a few deserving players on this team for this award, but I cant think of a better player to get it. Congrats Papi, and Thanks :)

Well said South.  How can they be a fan of a team that they spread so much manure about?  I don't get it.....

    Great pics, Sherrif.

    Ortiz is the undisputed MVP.

Too bad they don't have separtate awards for pitchers.

Lester, Lackey and Uehara definitely derserve special recognition.

    Re: Ortiz MVP

Hitting gets postion players into the Hall, not where they hit in the order or if they happen to DH, which hasn't been the only role Ortiz has played in his career.  He has a decent glove, not great but serviceable range (if that's what it is), and his head is always in the game so he never puts himself out of position in the field when he's at first.  His WS offensive production totals would likely be much higher if the Sox had gone seven games in every series but.....  Yeah, he deserves to be in the Hall.

As for Bill806, maybe your right but on this morning after with a huge celebration, Parade coming I give Bill benefit of the doubt or at least give him a pardon for one day. I choose to be positive today. Enjoy the moment !!
