Offering Ortiz 2 years, 2 years ago, that's not the same as stupidly offering him two years for this year and next year. Stupid.

Could you repeat that.  I'm not sure you're being clear.  What are you saying about this deal?

Not true, it depends on which gender she or he identifies with. Read the federal regulations on the subject.

uh no. gender is defined by which sex organs you have.. So if a "female" was a hemaphrodite, had a vaglna, internal testicles but no overies. She would actually be a male. or a "male pseudo-hermaphrodite".

No, gender is scientifically defined by genetics. However, your federal government makes the regulations on how someone identifies  themselves as male or female.

genetics define which sex organs you have and which types of sex cells you create. So technically you are correct. However, it doesn't matter what the Feds "regulate". Their regulations don't change the laws of biology.

    Answer: crabs on your organ!

If any thread deserves to be driven into the woods, it's this one.

softy called me a racist for suggesting a "lowball offer" of $20M/2 plus incentives based on games played.

    Now this...

Maybe this is just sarcasm, but I doubt it.

softy only seems to like Red Sox players when he can use them as an excuse to bash the Red Sox FO. See Martinez, Victor.

Actually you wanted to give Ortiz 2 years last year. And before you ask, I can't supply the post because that was about a dozen banings ago.

Even I'm not dumb enough to say something like that. I'd go so far as to call you the Ortiz "basher in chief" though. :-)

Not a basher, just realistic and tell it the way I see it.  It will turn out that the sox held on to this guy three seasons too long.  Last season was a bust no matter how you slice the first half numbers, and this season will not be much better.

Even most of the ortiz lovers in the press were projecting the second year of the current contract to a coin flip on his health.

Yes, but it was 2 years in prison.
