Rays are/were beating a team with 4 starters down. Josh returns and Rays lose.
Do you ever recall any Sox team contending with 4 starters down?

If Rays man-handle NY, Boston could conceivably win the division, playing the O's.

Dream on. The Yankees will obvously win the division and the Red Sox will win WC, despite pitiful early coast and caution September collapse.

2 starters are down, not 4, and Bedard is being pampered along with Beckett.

    Lester
    Beckett (not down)
Lackey (only down in job performance)
    Buch (down is 1)
    DiceK ( down is 2)

Bedard makes it 1 down, and is part of the silly August coast and caution from Epstein.

Regardless of how post season goes, Henry should clean out the million dollar middle management outhouse stench. Value return on investment is terrible!

4 starters down at one point.
    Dice
    Buch
    Bedard
    Beckett

That's when Sept. swoon was in full bloom.

Bedard is not being pampered. He would have started for Weiland against Rays otherwise. 4 starters down is why Weiland started vs. Rays.
Still only one of them back.

Show me another time in RedSox history where they were still in contention with this many starters out. Show me another time the team ever had that many key starters out at one juncture.

2010 was supposed to be injury record year. Excuses are like green jobs, everyone claims to want one.

4 starters down at one point.
Dice (been out most of year and team was flying high in late August)
Buch (been out since June and team was flying high in late August)
Bedard (Bedard was recent acquired and is being pampered)
Beckett (Pampered and out a few starts)

Knock off the dog ate my homework. Prima donna millionaires need to show up ready for work.

    Again with the "green jobs".

Rotation of Miller/Weiland is not representative of "prima donna millionaires".
A team can get by losing one starter. Maybe two. But three is pushing it out then door of contention. 4? Forget it. No team can contend with that many out.

The only reason Boston played well when they lost Dice/Buch is the depth Theo created. Wake and Miller pitchd well enough to keep the team in games. But they were not supposed to keep the team in it for the long haul, anymore than Nava/Mac/Kalish were supposed to keep the hitting a float last year.

When Bedard returns and staff form is normalized, they will return to winning ways.
    What's with the Green jobs?

    Update:

    Tigers: 89 - 64    clinched.
    Texas: 88 - 65    5 game lead over Angels.

    Will the Tigers now coast?
