Owners are going to sell Sox?

The offseason signings have made very little sense in terms of talent and overpayment. Unless of course you want the books to look great to sell team.

The front office can disguise the signings as a bridge to building up the young talent in the farm and the philosphy of now more long term toxic signings.

    Something doesn't smell right.

I think these guys are going to sell....

@Moon if you're going to buy the team I will definitely chip in, you're the kind of owner the Sox need. Plus you could hire softy as a "consultant" to replace Bill James..... :)

    As for the OP,

"The offseason signings have made very little sense in terms of talent and overpayment. Unless of course you want the books to look great to sell team."

One scenario is sell. But the other scenario, and they are not exclusive, is that the Sox truly are building for the future and want to have resources to build a farm system and sign talent in the future. To do this you do have to overpay in the present to get these guys to sign shorter term contracts. I don't know the plan will work but it's a viable alternate explanation you seem to have overlooked.

It is about time for a sale. JH just doesn't look like a guy that's happy with criticism and he's gotten a lot of it the past two years. Why bother?

It would appear to me TW may enjoy spending 24/7 in CA.

So who would be interested? Would they be better owners than JH and TW? These guys have done a great deal to improve the franchise.

All I can say is if they do sell, I hope to God Mark Cuban buys the team.

I want Michael Jordan to buy the team.  Just like Miagic Johnson bought the Dodgers.

You know Moon, the team in the hands of the fans could have it's advantages as long as there is a strong board of directors with you and Notin heading it up.

What do you think the team would sell for?

Dont think MJ has been a very successful owner thus far. Now, Cuban will spend the $$ and you know he will be passionate about whatever teams he owns...

Ben Affleck, Mark Wahlberg, and Matt Damon should buy the team.

The way the posters on here want to spend millions on players.... Iwould say the only guy to buy the Sox should be Bill Gates........
