    Interseting that the causes for this are too much running walking or jumping. Since he spends most of the time on his butt, I just don't see how this happened, unless it's the jumping on home plate after a HR.

    But of course, they won't DL him and continue to play shorthanded as they have.

    Nah, I heard that his shipment of milkshakes from the dominican republic got delayed and he needs more since he started sharing them with ellsbury....

    Perhaps put Ortiz on 15 day and bring up Lavarnway to dh ?
    With Youk in a bit of slump, maybe a r/h bat could help us.

    Any other in-house healthy r/h options are in AA ( Hassan, Middlebrooks ) ; that would be too much of a jump.
    Waiver deal time.

    He's out day-to-day. They have decided NOT to DL him. That was in the articles. They have the facts and the JoeSixPacks do not. He may play tomorrow for all that we know. The thread title is in error since he is not out indefinitely. Bucholz is out indefinitely - not Ortiz.

    The thread title came directly from the article.

    Thanks for spelling "indefinitely" correctly.  Most people are able to spell "finite" so why can't they remember how to spell "(in)definite(ly)"?

    Indefinetely can mean two days, six days, or six weeks. The OP says "This team has to have some of the worst luck". Is he saying two days or six weeks. Indefinitely is a word that means "nothing definite". The OP is assuming the worst case scenario. I thought that it was over-reaction.

    Indefinitely = without definition.

    Babe's moniker mortality rate in this forum is indefinite.

    Retrocalcaneal bursitis is near the Achilles tendon, which could be a problem. The bursa sac gets inflammed around the joint...

    Rest, Ice, anti-inflammatories, a boot cast, ultrasound and PT should help Big Papi to get back in few weeks...

    If doesnt go away in few weeks a steriod injection will help...

    Hopefully its not the Achilles tendon, which will linger for months...

    Indeterminate in this case means seven days. He is due back next Tuesday ( per postgame interview).

    Being without Papi for a week wouldn't be so bad if they weren't also essentially without Gonzalez, Youkilis, and Crawford at the plate.
