Re: Peter Abraham vs. your 25 man roster

I do not see Sweeney making the roster; ShaVic can play CF if Ells is hurt. Nava should be added in Sweeney's place. Sweeney is a good defender but no consistency with the bat/no power either.

Mortenson is not better than Aceves. If Farrell can't work with Aceves, Aceves should be traded. That would be a shame because he is a talented guy.

If Doubie or Lackey or Lester fail to meet expectations perhaps Morales, Aceves or Webster/RDLR (if they continue to pitch well in the Spring) might be good choices.

Also we may see some trades between now and opening day.

Mort out Bard in. I like Sweeney has the forth and Nava has option. Let Nava work at first and become a 1b/LF instead of just a LF. If JBJ makes the then Gomes slides down.

Bard needs a change of scenery. It's going to be difficult for him to erase last season from his mind in Boston--unfortunately the fans won't let him forget if he has some bad outings. They will option him if things don't change.

I would honestly take Mort over Bard---because of his long relief ability and Bard's inconsistentcy. I would take Aceves over both--his issues are overblown--the BP thing was nothing intentional. Other than that there hasn't been an issue this spring. Give the guy a break--we are seeing what the whole team had to put up with last year with BV--he (BV), is  a ticking time bomb--good luck SHU---hopefully the PR from hiring him won't be 100 % bad.

We have an outfielder who I think is flying under the rader. He fields and runs like Sweeney but hits with power. 19hrs last year in something like 400 ABS in minors I believe last year.  His name is Jeremy Hazelbaker (spelling?). Any chance he makes the rooster?

Bard does not make the ML roster until he proves he can pitch again, and thats done at the AAA level. I think they ruined him for good last year with their ill-advised attempt to make him a SP and change his mechanics.

Trouble spelling? you have the same trouble with Wake. You have been an irritant far too long. You're right this is not the first time we have confronted one another. Bullies are not appreciated in society today.

I feel badly I'm saying these things because I feel I'm stooping to your level

What causes you to degrade nice guys like Wakefield and Dempster? Are  you jealous they make more money than you do or they have more talent and friends than you do. Just what exactly is it?

He'd be a nice bench player...Great speed, good bat and can play all OF positions.

upside and AAA track record and fresh blood and gut feeling and organization catching depth and not a salt fan (as a player, like him personally), want bradley starting in outfield too, but don't want iggy starting at ss unless and until he proves he can hit AAA

He was 8-4 against the AL with reasonable stats.

Seriously, I heard they have this thing called the internet, where you can look stuff up.

Joe, "reasonable stats" is not a 5 plus ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. "Seriously, Joe, look up his Stats with the Rangers.

Joe, I've noted you are high on Dumpster. At 13.25 million a year, he's going to get lit up in the AL EAst. You have a lot of confidence in him and think "reasonable stats".  He's a bum, and an old bum

Bullies are not appreciated in society today.

In fact, it's the Left who constitute the bullies in society, today. The left pretends that they are the arbiters of what behavior is appropriate. I don't mind it when they try and bully me by calling me a bully.

I feel badly I'm saying these things because I feel I'm stooping to your level

What causes you to degrade nice guys like Wakefield and Dempster? Are  you jealous they make more money than you do or they have more talent and friends than you do. Just what exactly is it?

Dumpster and Wastfield aren't "nice guys", but that's not the issue. The issue is that Dumpster is  being paid to be an elite pitcher, after stinking it up with the AL Rangers. Nice guys don't say "they deserve to see me". You need to do your research on this "nice guy" Dumpster.
