Deliberately loading the bases with any pitcher on the mound is risky. But that tactic increases the number of ways a doubleplay can be turned and also affects the defensive alignment. Bard might have walked in the winning run, sure; but he went 0 and 2 on Longoria and then piped a pitch. Was he wild warming up? Was he wild on the mound warming up?  Did anyone notice? If he wasn't wild, then you put two guys on and play for two.  What Bard did a few days earlier is old news.
