    Good morning NerdatMIT   :)

I like your username.   I barely graduated from MIT.   It was a very brutal and depressing two years.  LOL

    In response to softlaw2's comment:

Well, it's almost time for premium guy to take over the starting SS. Iggy has been overmatched and isn't ready. He needs to prove himself in the minors. While Ortiz won't be back for a few more weeks, it would be a mistake to use S. Drew as the DH v RP starters and as a backup SS.

The sooner the Red Sox get a premium guy starting at SS, the sooner they start winning a higher percentage of their games.

I've been away for a few days, so I might be missing an inside joke. You are joking around that,  right?

This is like in chess when you tap on another piece across the board from the one you are moving. You try to distract from the one you are moving to see you can go unnoticed by your opponent. Softy is moving from JBJ because of his struggles are making it hard for him. He is hoping you forget about that and focus on Iglesias.

On the one hand, Jose Iglesias is hitting .529 and slugging .647. On the other hand, this is his spray chart:

its obvious that iggy wont keep hitting well.

It is a bit alarming looking at his spray chart it is a bit of fools gold.

Yes, Bradley is struggling with his .333 OBP and outstanding defense and his 6 game BA.

Now, let's focus on managment and "premium guy", as a distraction.

This slugging is 190 and OPS is 523. How are those stats not struggling?

So is JBJ's .333 OBP. take away a couple BB and its at .300. I guess hes getting on base some how. But actually hitting the ball would be a little more encouraging.

Yes, I've noticed how Napoli and Salty are struggling.

Bradley is a top defensive player with good speed whose value is in OBP, not slugging.

I wonder why Napoli and Salty are struggling on OPS, since they are sluggers who are terrible defensive players and ultra-slow.

190 is not acceptable SLG. 300 is bad SLG that wouldn't be acceptable. That means he is getting a base less then every 5 atbat. Both of those two have OPS over 600. On top of that Salty's OBP is 350. It is okay he is struggling and going head to the farm. He will be better for it.
