Theo was always in love with Saltalamachia. Atlanta knew something about him, thats why they traded him for Teixeira in 2008. He has a major hole in his swing. They sold high at the time for Teixeira. n response to "Re: Rangers-Red Sox Gamethread":
In Response to Re: Rangers-Red Sox Gamethread : Posted by AL34
i wonder if the sox will address this if they still in the race before the trade deadline? I'd rather see macdonald out there, or aviles and put punto in at SS

i'm not sure why he's here either.. D'mac is a solid player hungry to be a starter. plus he has experience in fenway's tricky outfield. this could be a decent option until crawford gets back

Makes one wonder why the Sox don't call up their good youngsters when the team is playing like it is now.  Salty isn't helping things, but of course if Youk was doing his usual good thing none of this would be relevant.  But they could afford to bring Lavarnway up and give him some real experience which would play well down the road if he didn't perform as hoped.

you could put mcdonald in left and move ross to center, thats probably about it, or vice-versa

You know the Twinkies pitching stinks when the Yankees recent defensive catcher acquisition, Chris Stewart, is 2 for 3 with 3 rbi's...This guy was a .200 hitter in the NL....In his defense, he did do okay with a shaky Sabathia....

Lin is far superior defensively , but not much of a hitter either. Linares , at Portland might be an improvement.

Unfortunately the Salty did not do as well with a shaky Lester.

Ross seems to do better in center. He does not seem to have a clue in left.

Meancon is picking up right where he left off. Remember guys there isno pressure pitching in Houston. I was not impressed with him in Spring Training and he has done nothing to instill confidence this season. He reminds me a little of Ramon Ramirez in 2009 who was better suited for the National League.

hes played great in CF when they've played him there. he even said he doesn't like the corner positions because he has trouble reading the angles and he can't get as good a jump on the ball. i say, leave him in CF and have D'mac patrol left

Anyone but Repko would be a good choice. The guy just plain stinks at everything. Medical report on him was bursitis in the elbow, bad shoulder, and a concussion causing him to miss most of last year. Come on! I haven't played CF for 30 years and could be more productive
