Melancon gets no one out. Cut ties with this guys we have plenty of other options. Disgusting display of pitching. -

I might have been a bit optimistic about the Red Sox bullpen....This debacle will be hard for Melancon to recover from, and the bullpen itself...This is a REALLY bad loss for the Red Sox in the wake of the Bobby V. controversy...The fact that Aceves is best used as a middle reliever and not as a closer is obvious...Yanks win 8-3, and the upcoming battle between these rivals could set the tone for the season... -

This is downright ugly, Lester gets absolutely shelled (7 ER in only two frames) ... Salty is at .087/.160/.261: guy can't call a game or throw out a runner & he obviously can't hit, why is he on the roster and what was with InEpstein's man-crush ??? Bring Lava up now, needs more seasoning my patootie, he could outhit salty with a rope ... -

gotta agree, ben c has clearly be trained to be a theo clone. he makes the same dumb decisions theo made. cheap out on the pen, dont fix the pitching, and guess what? same results. imagine that -

Let me get this straight...the best the Sox could call up from Pawtucket is a .231 hitter???? -

We have guys like Cook , Miller , Ohlendorf and Tazawa at Pawtucket. Hill seems ready to come back. Changes coming. Middlebrooks and Lavarnway could be coming soon. Linares also. Cannot continue to go much longer with this crew. -

Beckett's start tomorrow will be huge....The Aviles defense stinks to be honest...On DP's as well...I said they would miss Scutaro, and it is showing...He is not an everyday shortstop... -

Agreed Melancon is bad, the sox bullpen started to take shape with Morales,
and Aceves.
Remember Bailey is hurt.
Not sure about the next series. -

Kudos to Papi for playing that hard!! He has been very impressive so far this year, but I imagine his shoulders will start to sag if he has to carry this team much longer. -

Can anyone tell me, does Melancon have minor league options left? This guy needs to be sent down tomorrow after this one and start over. How do you recover fro this?

This will be a brutal loss for the Red Sox...Given all their holes, they need to bounce back against the Rangers and Yankees in the next few days....And could the Rangers just put their bats away...Pulllleeezz....I hope the Red Sox come back tomorrow and beat them 21-1....
