    What's up zac?

The funny thing is Cervelli is probably the only catcher since Posada that actually hits consistently well for the Yanks.  He's one of those pests you simply have to love.  If our youngsters didn't need an elder mentor I would take Francisco's as our backup any day of the week.

Oh, he's just trying to be sarcastic about the Yankees having a retirement tour every year, you know, two years in a row and counting.

    But don't call me Hut.

    having fun is good

but U were way off calling  jeter announcing his retirement

    a selfish distraction

how many times do U think questions like

'is this your last yr'  'should they move him in the order' would of came up

and U R just being dishonest with yourself if

U don't think there were many fans enjoying the moment while they stood and applaud

it is a selfish distraction.  i believe the yankees would be 3 games up in the division if it wasn't for the jeter tour.

jeter should not be batting in the 2 hole.  if it wasnt his "tour" it would be much easier to move him down in the lineup.  but girardi is stuck because of it.

i never said it was about the fans.  of course it is selling tickets.  even yankees haters love jeter.  that was never my complaint.  btw - if a fan hasnt gone and seen jeter player the previous 18 years - what kind of baseball fan are you?  do you really deserve the opportunity to see the "tour"????

it's a distraction.  and it has cost the yankees the playoffs.

I understand your point about distraction of the tour, but the Yankees do not really have a better option than Jeter in the two hole even with his decreased Average. He has the 3rd highest OBP of the regulars behind Ells and Gardener and he K's less than both of them and they are both Lefties, so you would be going lefty lefty at the top.....you could argue maybe Texeira(when healthy) but he is supposed to be on of the RBI guys.

I think if Girardi had a better option he would have done it....tour or no tour.
