Re: Reaction to Red Sox World Series lineup tonight; What do you think of the batting order 5 through 9?

I gurantee you thats not the starting lineup when the Sox make the playoffs.

First off Crawford will be back, it's not like he broke a bone or tore a tendon he has a mild hamstring strain.  and Cameron will not be in RF, as bad as he is this year Drew is still better than Cameron and he got hit in the face with a ball...he didn't get his head cracked open...and don't count of the Sox going after a RF who is RH who can hit lefties.  Also Saltalamacchia catches more games than varitek and is coming around with a hot bat this june.

    Try this lineup

    Ellsbury -CF
    Pedroia  2b
    Gonzalez 1B
    Youkilis 3B
    Crawford LF
    Scutaro SS
    Saltalamacchia C
    Drew RF
    Pitcher

but remember if the AL wins the all star game then for out of the 7 games plugs Ortiz in that lineup.

Why is anyone trying to apologize?  It is what it is and it doesn't look so good on paper.  Then again, on paper, the Sox shouldn't have lost 4 of 6 to the Pirates and Brewers....but stuff happens.  Kinda why they play the games...

Nice, but don't most teams have a nice 1 thru 4? FRNYYGL is busting chops in fun, but it's the teams that have a nice 1 thru 9 you have to worry about.

And who would that be?  I'll concede that the Red Sox have a number of guys struggling with the bat, but they do lead the majors in runs scored.

You are right they shouldn't have lost 4 of 6 to the Padres (not Brewers) and Pirates, but a big reason why the did is because of the fact that McDonald and Cameron started and batted in the 5th/7th spots in 3 of those games.

You might as well let Reddick learn how to hit lefties then this would be a non-issue in the future.

5 through 9?  Were we expecting 9 to be anything other than a pitcher?  The Phils lineup looks the same to me:

    1. Jimmy Rollins 6
    2. Placido Polanco 5
    3. Chase Utley 4
    4. Ryan Howard 3
    5. Shane Victorino 8
    6. Raul Ibanez 7
    7. Domonic Brown 9
    8. Carlos Ruiz 2
    9. Cliff Lee 1

That's what you get in an NL park.  Everyone should quit whining and enjoy the game.

I have no problem with NcDonald being in there somewhere. I do have a problem with Cameron even being on the roster! I think Reddick should at one of the corners, and hitting fifth!

Francona's wishful thinking is getting tiresome.
