Reality check for Sox

Good afternoon to my good friends on Red Sox: On the front burner.
Congratulations on bulldozing Toronto's Triple A pitching staff. Your team offensively is playing great. But what happens if you do get to the World Series. Will you score double digit runs against the Phillies. Isn't it true that it's all about pitching in October?
How will you fare against arguably the best starting pitching in MLB?
Let's look at their number one starter Halladay. He has record of 8-3 and an earned run average of just 2.56 through 13 appearances on the mound. Next, there is Hamels, who is also having an impressive season. So far he has eight victories and an ERA of 2.58, and he has the fifth most strikeouts in the National League. And there is Cliff Lee who leads the major leagues in strikeouts.
So my point is whether it's my Yanks or your Red Sox, it all comes down to pitching. Now there is nothing wrong with scoring a zillion runs against the pitching deprived teams in the AL;however, it will all come down to how sharp and focused your front 3 are in October. -

The Yankees won't have to worry about the Phillies pitching staff in October. They'll be home watching the Series on TV. -

So your point is that when the Red Sox reach the world series they may run into a good pitching staff? Thanks for breaking the news. -

Frankie is just trying to beat the reality contingent to reminding Red Sox fans not to act happy, optimistic, giddy, exuberant, and joyful. Their job is to stifle homerism and not upset our very important and vital Yankee fans. At all costs we must remain cool, calm, and sober. Try to remember that this is not a Red Sox forum for Sox fanatics but is a neutral, logical, honest, realistic arena. Check your emotions at the door and be ready to post youtube links and discuss movies from the 1940s and 1950s. It is better to keep falling for the Bosox1941, Andrewmitch, and Softlaw routines than to act like a happy Red Sox fan. As Dad Perkins from NH said this morning; the forum is like a movie and it needs villians ( especially Snidely Babe) and the other regular pretenders. Think of it as a group of grumpy old men in their 80s who have their own little fraternity as it matters not whether you wears pinstripes or Red Socks. -

If his job was to stifle happiness, optimism, giddiness, exuberance, and joy, he seems to be doing an effective job on you. Maybe you were like this to begin with, in which case, he shouldn't be given any credit for making you the miserable f-k that you are. -

Beckett, Lester, and Buchholz aren't a bad matchup in a playoff series.
A lot of yankee fans view Halladay based on his career record against the yankees, 18 and 7 with a 2.98 ERA. As has already been stated, he has never dominated the sox. They do very well against him.
Cliff Lee is 2 and 4 with a 4.06 ERA career against Boston. -

Frank,
That's why we decided to give the Yankees a "reality check" by dropping 25 runs in 3 games on them:)
Seriously! We weren't rubbing it in either..... We just wanted to help you guys out by giving you a subtle wake up call!
No, really! It was our pleasure to help out! :) -

Those are 3 great pitchers! NO doubt about it! But hey.... It's the NL???? Still, they are gooooood! Our line-up though? Please!
I'd put money on our top 3 pitchers any day of the week!
Beckett #!
Lester #2
Bucholtz #3
in a short series! All 3 will be ready to rock & roll by October!
Lester & Buch. are working out the kinks! They will be ready! -

If Toronto's staff is AAA what is NY"s? They also gave up 25 runs in 3 games and their ace picthed one of the games.
