Their job is to stifle homerism and not upset our very important and vital Yankee fans. At all costs we must remain cool, calm, and sober. Try to remember that this is not a Red Sox forum for Sox fanatics but is a neutral, logical, honest, realistic arena. Check your emotions at the door and be ready to post youtube links and discuss movies from the 1940s and 1950s. It is better to keep falling for the Bosox1941, Andrewmitch, and Softlaw routines than to act like a happy Red Sox fan. As Dad Perkins from NH said this morning; the forum is like a movie and it needs villians ( especially Snidely Babe) and the other regular pretenders. Think of it as a group of grumpy old men in their 80s who have their own little fraternity as it matters not whether you wears pinstripes or Red Socks.

But what happens if you do get to the World Series. Will you score double digit runs against the Phillies. Isn't it true that it's all about pitching in October? How will you fare against arguably the best starting pitching in MLB? Let's look at their number one starter Halladay. He has record of 8-3 and an earned run average of just 2.56 through 13 appearances on the mound. Next, there is Hamels, who is also having an impressive season. So far he has eight victories and an ERA of 2.58, and he has the fifth most strikeouts in the National League. And there is Cliff Lee who leads the major leagues in strikeouts. So my point is whether it's my Yanks or your Red Sox, it all comes down to pitching. Now there is nothing wrong with scoring a zillion runs against the pitching deprived teams in the AL;however, it will all come down to how sharp and focused your front 3 are in October.
