Red Sox already headed in right direction

After today, they will have now gone two straight days without losing. That hasn't happened since sometime during spring training.
In Response to Re: Red Sox already headed in right direction : really? How many more 'rain-outs' do tou think they can get away with?
Posted by 42nyc
42, parts of mass had 5" of rain yesterday. boston had almost 2". did it rain at a convenient time, yes, but to insinuate it was a farce, is unfair.  the mets and NYY games were rained out Monday, the conditions were no worse.

You know Theo and Tito should be able to foresee and control the weather too! One more reason to fire the lot of 'em!

Re: Red Sox already headed in right direction

I suggest that the management hire an aviation service to
seed the clouds above Fenway Park. That way they can ensure
at least 151 more "rainouts" and avoid a colossal embarrassment'
going forward.
To get back to reality, for those Boston fans who think there
is an actual chance to be competitive...you should go on dreaming.
The Yankees, down 0-5, made their usual heroic comeback and
Baltimore gave up the ghost as usual, and lost to the Bombers
in the 10th, 6-5.
Basically our season is over, and I mean "our" . This is the
worst Sox squad I have seen in some time, and A Gon and Crawford
won't help.  As of tonite we are at least 5 or 6 games behind the
Yanks, and the season is about 2 weeks old. We just don't have
the offensive firepower to come from behind the way the Yankees
do, and no teams are intimidated at Fenway.
We will probably finish third place, at best.  The good news
is that after the debacle of this season, Francona will be gone,
Henry will sell the team, and JD, Jacoby, Cameron, Salty, Tek,
Scutaro, Lackey, and Dice will be employed elsewhere, hopefully.
We'll have three offensive players.. Dustin, Crawford, and
Adrian Gonzales, and three pitchers...Buchholz, Beckett, and
Lester.  From that point on, we start from scratch.

That direction is the cellar:

NY Yankees 74.636-
Baltimore 65.5451
Toronto 66.5001.5
Tampa Bay 48.3333.5

Right now Beckett's ERA is 2 and Buch's is 7, so maybe it'll be Lester and Josh and pray for slosh.

What we can hope for is that farrell is as good of a manager as he was a pitching coach. When your 2-9, 150 rainouts won't help except to preserve our managers job, and that is not a plus
