    Wow.  An in-season move.  Didn't think that would happen, but hope it makes some impact for the remainder of the season.  Mayhaps the younger pitchers called up after Sept 1st will benefit.

    Yeah, take it out on Bob McClure, but keep Niemann? What the hell is that? They both sucked. They won't fire BV, but firing the pitching coach. This is pathetic fall guy stuff. I'm so sick of this organization, and why it continually defends Bobby Valentine. All year, it's about defending him to the masses. Well, he sucks, and the team is 3 games under .500 and they are going to probably not finish at .500....Pathetic.

    It had to happen!  There is almost ZERO plate discipline, which was one of the hallmarks of this team since about 2001.  Not sure about Niemann????  I don't know much about the guy, but if he is Bobby's guy, I don't have a great deal of confidence.

    Let the carnage begin!  It's inevitable....  Too bad we couldn't start with LACKEY!

    I can see it now.  This whole year is going to be dumped in McClure's lap.

    This is just step one in Lucchino's master plan to get Bobby Baseball to next year.  I really really hope the Soccer Boys don't fall for this.

    My guess is that Valentine will be back next year, for better or worse. He didn't lay the egg this year; Epstein is the hen in this case.
