    hill,

Bedard pitching with our lineup behind him could be a great pickup.  He is a lefty, has good control and probably better stuff than Lackey.  I could see us grabbing Bedard with any number of possible packages.

    The Mariners need help everywhere!

I completely agree.  At first I was hesitant because Safeco is a huge pitchers park, but Bedard has actually pitched far better on the road according to ERA and to a lesser extent WHIP.  His home/road FIP splits are almost even in similar sample sizes.  He has been somewhat lucky on the road with a BABIP of .243, but his home mark of .280 certainly suggests sustainability at Safeco.

I generally don't like short term (less than 1 year) rentals, but it couldn't hurt to find what the M's are asking for.

He was always a pain in the rear to Sox hitters when he was with Baltimore.
I think he would be a great addition!

There was a time, a few years back, that I wanted Theo to sign Bedard.  I am glad now that Theo knew more than me and avoided him.  Bedard has always had questionable desire, and a true "glass jaw," as it were.  Theo should only trade for Bedard now if he can get him for the proverbial PTBNL and/or cash considerations.
