How about some love for Sean Coyle, who as a little 2nd baseman is now leading the Carolina league in HR with 9! Hitting .324 last I looked.

We have the killer "B's" with Bradley, Barnes and Bogaerts and then the kille "C's" with Cechinni and Coyle after them. Then the "God help us because we have nothing" down in A level Greenville!

    Just kidding.

Re: Red Sox Minor League Observations And Updates

I'd seriously think about moving Cechinni to the OF or 1st base at this point to move his bat through the system more quickly. He has 8-9 errors so far at 3rd. And we have quite a few guys who can play 3rd potentially for this team.

I haven't seen him play much at all in the field so this is just total speculation. It's not that unusual to see a young guy have a lot of errors at 3rd. He's too big for 2nd. He has hit consistently well. He is starting to look like a decent corner OF offensively and he might be able to rapidly advance offensively now. He has been hurt several times, slowing his development. He needs to move through the system a little faster.

"Look how hard it is to develop a No. 1, 2 or 3 starter," Boles said. "Not many guys have the mix or are wired to get 15 to 21 outs in a game."

The Sox haven't had too many brought through the system:

The Rocket, Lester, Buch--I'm sure there are others

    Doubie as a 4,5.

Please add more names when you think of someone.

Coyle has an unGodly ISO of .465 so far this year and a wRC+ of 216. terrific numbers even at this point in the season, and he's been playing hurt with a severely bruised thumb.

It's interesting that JBJ is still hitting around .300 in AAA but that it is with very little pop. He may well have lost some confidence and the shoulder injury may also be bothering him.

I think Bill James had it about right. He had him as around a .258 hitter at the mlb level. At this point in time.
