Good to see Barnes starting to find his form and pitch better as of late. Too bad for Bard, 3 base runners in his 1 IP at least no runs. Really seems to be between the ears w/ him, he's either really good or really bad no in between. Who is Tony Thomas? never heard of him before.

In 2011 the Chicago Cubs traded Tony Thomas to the Sox in exchange for pitcher Robert Coello.

.328 for Lavarnway, not bad. This is when I would bring him up and let him play a couple of games, while he's hot. Cup of Coffee, see how it works.

If just 2 of them between Webster, RDLR, Barnes, Workman, Ranaudo, and Britton can prove to be TOTR starters (#1 and #2) it will be a success. I think all of them can be somewhere in the rotation though.

Here is the story 2004 was referencing, if anyone is interested:

Talk of "bridge seasons" is always mocked around here, but I think we're going to like what's on the other side of this one.

The PawSox have posted their lineup from Gwinnett, and Alfredo Aceves still is listed as the starting pitcher. Still no Jose Iglesias, too.

Be interesting to see if Aceves gets scratched w/ RS need in bullpen right now. Only him and Bard on 40 man roster, and the way Bard is pitching not likely. Maybe RDLR or Webster, but looks like RS are in need of bullpen help, hard to believe 3 weeks ago we were talking about too many guys. Hopefully Breslow back and will help.
