Jackie Bradley, Jr. not in lineup for 2nd straight day in Pawtucket. He's got a very minor shoulder issue they're being cautious with.

Pawtucket outfielder Bryce Brentz has been part of consecutive home runs in two straight games. On Sunday, it was a back-to-back-to-back effort. On Monday, Brentz and Brandon Snyder went back-to-back. It was the fourth home run for Brentz (batting .279).

Jose Iglesias (.246) also homered (his third) ... Ryan Lavarnway (.313) went 2-for-4 ... starter Steven Wright was wild (five walks). He also gave up four hits in four innings, but allowed only one run, which was unearned.

Salem second-baseman Sean Coyle (.339) is showing some pop with his seventh home run ... but the story for Salem was 20-year-old left-hander Henry Owens. He pitched five innings (3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 8 K). He now has a 2.08 ERA, with 30 strikeouts in 26 innings.

Am I the only one thinking Snyder might prove a savvy pickup? Former top prospect (I think he was picked at #13 or something?)...only 26...now he's mashing in Pawtucket. Maybe he could help us at some point or fetch something in a trade.

    From MLB Trade Rumors:
"Scouts who have watched Red Sox minor leaguer Brandon Snyder want him on their team. The first baseman is off to a hot start for Triple-A Pawtucket, hitting .328/.427/.578 with three homers. Snyder was the O's pick in the first round of the 2005 draft (13th overall), a rich draft in which Justin Upton, Alex Gordon, Ryan Zimmerman, Ryan Braun, Ricky Romero, Troy Tulowitzki, Mike Pelfrey, Cameron Maybin, Andrew McCutchen, and Jay Bruce were taken ahead of him. One AL scout said that he can't imagine Snyder not being able to help a big league club."
