     Jim Murphy clobbered a solo-homer to put Reading ahead, his sixth of the season. After consecutive doubles by Cameron Rupp and Derrik Mitchell, Sebastian Valle reached on an E6, plating the third run.

    Derrick Mitchell blasted a two-out, solo homer in the fourth inning, giving Reading a 1-0 lead. The homer allowed Ranaudo surrendered just his second this season home run, both to Reading.

    Portland responded in there fourth, receiving a two-out homer by Travis Shaw, his first of the season. Shaw made his first start of the season at third base.

    Miguel Celestino pitched the final three innings for Portland, allowing three hits and a run. Reading score the final run of the night on a wild pitch by Celestino in the eighth.

    PawSox add a run in the 7th on an RBI single by Jonathan Diaz to make it 4-2.

    The PawSox then took a 3-2 lead after Rodriguez's third walk of the inning loaded the bases and a ground ball by Ronald Bermudez resulted in a two-run throwing error by catcher Jose Yepez.

     Matty Ott tossed a perfect top of the ninth to close out Salem's 6-4 victory, the third straight win for the Sox that moved the squad back above .500 at 15-14.
