From every indication Phillies won't settle for anything less than Bogaerts at the head of any package for Lee

Sense is still Peavy does go and in order most likely landing spots are 1) #Cardinals 2) Red Sox 3) Athletics

    Joel Sherman/New York Post

Have been told Red Sox definitely have enough hi-end prospects to do Lee without Bogaerts Phillies

    Joel Sherman/New York Post

1 exec suggested if Red Sox Phillies combined for top-10 prospect list, 9 would be Bos, so any combo for Lee would help Pha future

Where do they get this crap? Does anyone really think that the Red Sox are going to tell the media that they are trying to get Cliff Lee or anyone else until the deal is virtually consummated? All these beat writers need something to talk about I guess, even if its pure conjecture.

Yankees have checked in on Hunter Pence

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees and Reds are among the new teams who have checked in on the availability of Giants' outfielder Hunter Pence.

Heyman first reported the Reds' interest on Monday night. However, nothing appears close with either team. The Rangers and Pirates are among the other teams interested in Pence. The Giants plan to make a qualifying offer to the 30-year-old outfielder if they keep him around until he reaches free agency this fall, so they would likely have to be overwhelmed in order to deal him.

I'm told Michael Young has informed Phillies if he isn't dealt to Texas he'll consider other destinations but Boston would be 2nd choice

If Phillies can't trade Young to Texas or Boston, trade to Yankees is still a last-minute possibility. Stay tuned

Michael Young is not better than Drew or Iggy vs RHPs and is a worse fielder than both.

It is not worth giving up much for a slight gain on just offense against just LHPs.

RP are often waived; even if RS don't pick one up, expect them to claim some afterwards, albeit of the revolving door variety. LOL, can anybody say Joba?
