I hope he hangs around more than his 1-year-deal would allow...
Good guy to have once the Sox are competing again...

Morales, Miller, Breslow, Uehara, Hill? Stockpiling lefties in the pen or a move coming?

Boston's bullpen did pretty well in 2012. This signing is an upgrade.
Now let's go get some good starting pitchers.

No way. He is one year older than 36. When he was 36 (last year), he was one of the best set up men in the bigs. The year before that (35) he was awesome.I'm thinking 1 yr / 4. If its anything under 1 @5.5 its a good deal.

I'm surprised Texas did not make an effort to keep him. Maybe Darvish did not get along with him? LOL

Bullpen looking good, depending on what the intentions are with Taz, and whether the real Melancon that showed up in September shows up again.

they're trying to make a 4 team trade for J Upton, One of the finalists for Grienke and trying to make a deal with Hamilton. Can't blame them for letting a 38 year old reliever slip through the cracks lol. Low velocity but he has the highest k/9 of any other reliever in their last 200 innings. so i'm eager to see how he does with the team. looks to be an upgrade so far. -

Lots of good names in the pen, hopefully they can produce. Also, hopefully one is capable of being a solid closer.

Nice pick up. Awesome stats! Only thing, we now have like 92 relief pitchers with major league experience. (Mortenson,Carpenter,Bard,Miller,Melancon, etc).

I hope this means they are thinking about giving Tazawa a shot at the rotation.
