From MLBtraderumors.com:
The Red Sox and Kevin Millwood have agreed to a minor league deal, tweets Yahoo's Tim Brown.
Millwood, 36, signed a minor league deal with the Yankees earlier this year but opted out of his contract after posting a 4.50 ERA through three minor league starts. Millwood's numbers appeared to be good through his first two starts, but scouts said otherwise, citing that his fastball was sitting around just 85mph.
Over the past few days, we've heard that the Cubs, Red Sox, and possibly the Angels have all shown interest in Millwood. Boston's rotation depth has taken a hit with injuries to both John Lackey and Daisuke Matsuzaka, so the Red Sox were a logical destination for the 14-year Major League veteran.

Let's hope he never pitches a game for the Sox. If he does, it will mean things got pretty horrid with the rotation. I think Wake's fastball has more on it than Millwood's does. He's been clocked in the low 80's.

And to think, some clown wanted to shorten our pitching options before the season even started.
These are the "other options" available in this day and age.

Choices are being made. Sadly, Wakefield is one of those choices. The dumpster options was always available, and is a better long shot than Wastefield.

Didn't we also have Greg Maddux for awhile? Talk about over-the-hill pickups, Millwood led the AL in losses last year. I remember when he was tough against us but he was probably never gonna pitch against us again. Oh well, it was probably cheap and with little downside, unless the plan is to start him every 4 or 5 days.

He may have something to prove though you never know I'll take added depth over no depth at all I'm still a skeptic of the deal but what bad can come out of it if he just pitches better then Dice-K.

As excruciating as it is to watch Dice-k pitch, he did have 2 terrific games on that West Coast swing.

Millwood will be Fenway-prone.
