Awesome. But the issue with Reddick is plate discipline, right? Any of you prospect watchers have any insight as to whether he looks like he's able to lay off balls out of the strike zone yet?

He's looking pretty go so far.  SSS, but his BB:K ratio is 11:13 which is very encouraging.

If he keeps up the good work , he could become the rightfielder in 2012. Kalish was off to a slow start and now he is out indefinitely. Sox might be better off with a right handed hitter but Linares is not showing much so far. Nava has been worse. They have some promising outfielders in AA and A ball but you would have to think they are at least two years away. Reddick could be the guy.

Reddick has adjusted after a year at every level now besides MLb.  He is really crushing the ball at Pawtucket, it would be great if he could improve his late discipline as well.  Even if he doesn't if he shows that same ability to evolve and progress up to the MLb level he will still be a good power hitter with exceptional defense.  He will get his chance this summer, or perhaps he can be packaged with Lowrie for a right handed power hitter.

I have the minor league TV package from MLB.com but can't seem to find the time to watch any of the games. They archive them also so you can watch past games. Good stuff to watch on the Red Sox off days.

I think he has passed Kalish on the "who's the first OF'er" called up list.

Reddick is streaky but a lot of mlb players are too aren't they? Let's hope he stays hot all year, puts up great numbers and makes a strong case for himself for the big club next year.

I still think we need a big righty bat in the OF next year (or this July).

The Crawford signing has made it difficult to replace Drew with another lefty.

If Reddick and Kalish replace Cam and Drew, the only real option to solve our problem vs lefties is to trade Ellsbury and others for a RH'd bopper or some how score a great hitting SS/C (not likey).

Trade Els?????  Hmmmm!  OK, trade our best hitting, speed burner, very good CF, #1 lead-off batter, who we are paying next to nothing????

    Good idea!?!?!?!?

Having said that.... I do agree that we are WAY TOO HEAVY on the left handed bats, & for now it's killing us!  BUT, trading Els. is certainly not the answer!

Re: Reddick: Six HRs in six games.

Ellsbury is not "our best hitter", weak defensive CF'er, weak lead-off inning OBP, and over 2M is not "next to nothing". It's going up the next two years, if he's not traded, at which time the jig is up to FA. I'll tell you right now that Ellsbury won't be worth half what Boras demands in FA.
