    Not only do I see him as a rental, but one who brings back no draft choices compensation.  The fact that the Mets will cover his salary makes his trade value higher.  This makes him costlier.  The operative words here should be, Nice thought, but NO THANKS.

    Summer,

       I think you did this very well, giving us a middle of the road option.  As long as Beltran doesn't cost us the guys we are all talking about here already ...

       I actually heard a talking head earlier say, "He's only 34."  Huh?  More salient is that he's finally healthy after two iinjury depleted seasons.  I think John Kruk strongly suggested Pittsburgh get in on this action.
