Right now, who is your favorite Sox player to watch?

Koji here, with Ells a close second, both dazzle & create excitement; love watching Nava work the count too.

Victorino and Gomes because they are new. Ells is my favorite player though. I'm 56 but I own a T-shirt I bought outside Fenway that says "Obie won Jacoby" Love it. Victorino has a little bit of power with great speed and a great defensive outfielder. He was a big member of the 08 Phillies WS team.

Don't have a single favorite, newmex, but here are some at the top of my list:

Papi - Nothing better than watching him slug a dramatic home run into the heavens.  He and Dusty are the soul of this team.

Dusty - How could you not like Dusty?  Love that little man with the big swing.

Victorino - This is a baseball player.  Plays hard and what a skill set.  Finds a way to get the job done no matter what.

Koji - There's a Japanese term called "Wa", which translates to something like team spirit.  This man embodies wa.  You can almost tell from the expression on his face that he bears great responsibility when closing out a game that his teammates worked hard to put together.  His spirit is contagious.  I love it when he's on his game and the opposing batters look helpless.

Nava - Makes the former Notre Dame football practice squad specialist Rudy Ruettiger look like an underachiever by comparison.

My choice for MVP is Ue. He is the threat waiting in the wings. THE OTHER TEAM KNOWS THEY CAN'T BE EVEN OR BEHIND IN THE 8 TH OR 9TH. His control and his pitches are surgeon like; he generally doesn't waste any pitches. He has been so dependable--what a diamond in the rough.

Unlike most closers--he's not selfish only concerned about the Save--he's concerned that the SOX WIN. Glad he had the blip in the game the other night with Lobaton.

Koji and Victorino, but Ellsbury has been inching up to the top spot with his aggresive baserunning and high OBP.

For homegrown player, Ellsbury easily.  Pedroia is the second favorite of mine.

As a non-homegrown hitter, I would say Papi.  He helped the team in many ways for the offense.

As a non-homegrown or homegrown all around player for this season, I woud say Victorino. He is the most fun player to watch from defense to offense.  That is the best free agent signing in a while.  I know Manny is the best free agency signing ever!!  Still Victorino is the best signing in the past 5 to something years!!

Good job Ben.  Keep picking up good pieces to make the team a better team as well to be a world series contender!!

    Pedroia.

Great defense and his at bats are must watch, for me.

I love the smell of asphalt in the morning.

    In response to BurritoT-'s comment:

Simple Answer:  All of them... 1-9, top to bottom, blah blah. This is a team man, they are a unit, and I bet they have more core and heart than the Dodgers.

Agreed!  This is such a fun team to watch that I really hav no individual favorites.  I have my favorite players on the team but at this point they are all fun to watch and so different that it's tough to choose.

As for the Dodgers...... My gut tells me they don't get past St.Louis.  St.Louis is so battle tested in the post season that they are going to be tough no matter who they play.  I actually think the are the most dangerous team in the post season right now when it comes to the Sox.

Pedey is my favorite but right now, the guy I enjoy watching the most has to Vic.....

I've always been a big fan.  In fact, if you go back to posts from 2007 during my Drew bashing days, I cite Vic as a someone who we could had gone after instead...........If I recall properly at the time the Phillies had Rowand in CF and Vic was still developing and considered more of a prospect who I believe the Phillies may had been open to dealing......

it's impressive how often he can put an almost shoulder-high pitch in play..and occasionally with authority...a long way from that guy who got killed on this board his first couple of months..became a force..

It will always be Papi but I also like watching Victirino and Xander. Xander because I like to watch rookies to see how they react in the big's.

Don't have one.  I've got at least four - Pedey, Ells, Victorino and Koji!

Red Sox in 2013 World Series, Patriots in 2014 Super Bowl!

Victorino. One of these days, you'll see him take 2nd on a walk. (think Billy Werber). The way he saw Ellesbury start to steal the other night, faked the bunt (and the pitcher right out of his shoes), and caused the wild pitch, was a classic!

    both dazzle

I don't get "dazzled". You might want to sober up before making comments.

I'm a huge believer in the words of Earl Weaver, which should harken a comparison to the contract costs of the careers of Carl Crawford, Ellsbury and the recent triple crown winner.

I wouldn't doubt you for a second.  I am sure you don't get dazzled by anything in baseball.  Since you have never posted anything approaching positive emotion, only negative grinding, I am confident "dazzled" is not in your range of emotion or expression.
