    Re: Rizzo

Last I looked his OPS was OVER 1.300. He's an ANIMAL! A MONSTER....and I wish we still had him!

Reddick hit 2 more HR today for 8 total in 80 AB. 1 for every 10 AB which was around Babe Ruth's percentage. The Boston farm is doing great also.

I liked Rizzo a lot...wish there was a way we could have traded Lars and kept Rizzo, but it was worth it to get Gonzalez.

Hopefully Rizzo has a nice career for himself.

    Go Rizzo!

Plus all these traded prospects succeeding also helps the Red Sox because teams will see their prospects are quality and the Sox arent trading garbage.

Yeah, he's looked good. Two things though.  One, it's an incredibly small sample size, so he could just as easily follow it up with a .150/.240/.330 line.  It's not likely, but he could.  Two, he's hitting in the PCL, which is the opposite of the International League in terms of it's offensive environment.  Offensive stats tend to be overinflated in the PCL.  His stats would likely made a huge adjustment once he got called up to the hitter crippling Petco Park.  Again, not saying he's not a talented guy.  Just saying that we shouldn't read too much into it because it's not indicative of his true talent level.

So far this season the San Diego Padres have gotten a woeful .131/.178/.202/.380 line from their firstbasemen, so Anthony Rizzo could get a call-up by summer. However, the Padres may turn first to former top prospect Kyle Blanks, who has struggled somewhat in his rehab assignment at Double A San Antonio:

What are the chances that Anthony Rizzo will outperform Adrian Gonzalez in 2015?

I'd say probably pretty slim.  Especially if Gonzalez is playing half his games at Fenway and Rizzo in PetCo.

So we shouldn't expect Rizzo to finish the year with a 1.260 OPS and his #s are likely to suffer in Petco.

Any other obvious statements we haven't covered?

With irrational optimism and pessimism running rampant on this board, someone has to be the voice of reason.

Nice comparison, Rang, Reddick to Ruth.
