I didn't know Ross played good D in center and could get you 40 steals.

Victoriono is not a bad signing.

Not sure if I would take Gomes over ross though.

.250 hitter who never stole 40 bases - and never will/

Ellsbury makes a lot more sense in CF than victorino.  But then again, Ellsbury has made more sense in CF for years now and the sox have never admitted that.

Is Mike Cameron available - because when he signed we were promised 25 - 30 HRs?

He had 39 steals last year.  So if I said 39 steals you wouldn't have had an issue but because I said 40 you had issue with it. Great talking baseball with you as always.

Anyway, the point was Victorino over Ross.  The Red Sox overpaid for Victorino. No doubt.  There is also no doubt in my mind he is much more valuable to a team than Ross.

Exactly. Ghost whins more than a schoolgirl but never comes forward with a better solution.

    Dear Hingham Schoolgirl,

    Ellsbury's low season on steals is 39.  70 & 50 are more than 39.

The plan this off season shouls have been 3 things and ONLY 3 things:

    1.  Sign Papi (check)

    2.  Sign Ellsbury

    3.  Acquire 2 starting pitchers.

If you can't achieve #2 - trade ellsbury at the break.  But you might be able to achieve it if you stop wasting money on Gomes, Napoli, victorino.

Just WASTED cash on 3 mediocrities.

I have said for years - if your choice is an expensive veteran mediocre player - go with a YOUNG player instead.  Kalish at least can improve - victorino will not improve.

Nava can at least improve - Gomes will NEVER improve.

Lavarnaway can at least improve.  Napoli is a .227 hitter on the decline.

This isn;t that difficult.  You either sign your best player and a couple of starters - or you commit to youth.

What you do NOT do is over pay mediocre aging ball players.

I was wrong in calling you a whinning schoolgirl.

After reading this post it's clear I insulted all whinning schoolgirls.
