To me...for this ALCS Red Sox fans should be on the ground kissing the feet of our pitching staff..not gushing over a DH.
'Gushing' over 'a DH'? Hmmm...it sure sounds like you're taking a shot at both Ortiz and his fans.
Fans can 'gush' over whoever they want. It's part of the fun of being a fan. I don't know why it would bother you.
If you think that was a shot, then you must not hang around with baseball fans outside this virtual community. I will be watching the game with Yankee fans tonight, there will be lots of shots from everyone then.
You are right, fans can gush over whomever they want. Fans can also post stats on whomever they want, even when the stats don't make the players who are usually gushed over, look good at that moment.
So while you're hanging out with Stiffy & your other Yankee troll friends, why don't you explain to them that the theory of mutual exclusivity does not apply to every situation.
SMART Red Sox fans are able to walk & chew gum at the same time. Contrary to your lack of understanding, we actually get the fact that our guys, INCLUDING Papi, were absolutely shut down by some of the greatest pitching I, or most other Red Sox fans have ever seen. We get the fact that Papi, along with the rest of the team did not look good at all. We get that they were MADE to look silly by unreal pitching. It happens, as real baseball fans well know. WE, as opposed to you, also know that our pitching was pretty damn good. Excellent in fact. We ARE "kissing the feet" of our pitchers, while marveling at Papi's clutch hitting. We're also marveling at the clutch hitting of Vic, who had been made to look absolutely horrific by Detroit pitching. WE actually get the fact that Papi had also been made to look silly for the majority of that series. All the while, we are also marveling at our continued AWESOME pitching.
While myopic Yankee trolls seem incapable of viewing baseball out of a vacuum, real Red Sox fans well understand that more than one thing can in fact be true at once time. Thoughts & feelings are not necessarily mutually exclusive, as you clearly believe. I actually like chicken and beer. The two do not necessarily cause mayhem in situations in & of themselves. Wake up clown! I love Papi, despite his generally pathetic performance in the ALCS. I knew there would come a time when he would come up big. You hate him. Stiffy hates him. You & Stiffy are all about "being proven right," albeit by using flawed and sophemoric logic. "If X is true, I am therefor ipso facto right," said Socrates. "I guess you must be!" replied Plato. This is how Yankee trolls like you & the Stiffy boy are want to read Socratic debate. Again..... Wake up Stiffy! It's not all about your feelings. You clowns couldn't think your way out of a paper bag.
p.s. GO PAPI!!! Go Sox! Go Gomesy! Go Nava!
p.p.s. I hope that last thought is NOT on the list of approved mutually exclusive thoughts & feelings
;) LOL ;)
p.p.p.s Suchk it stiff boy :)
