No doubt Ortiz is playing well and much better then some of us thought and he is back sooner then all thought.

It is ok to point out that he went 0 for 4 last night.  It is the Lees and the colons which Ortiz may have to face is the post season.  Yea, he sent a ball into the triangle but it was still an out, he has also lucked out a few times with clown centerfielders who were playing too shallow, so it evens out.

    LOL!!!

You keep stretching to try and prove Ortiz isn't worth his contract and you're going be on the DL.

And if you're going to be quiet as a mouse, when Ortiz has a 3-4 night with a HR, then yeah, it is wrong to harp on him for an 0-4 night.

The opinions of people with obvious biases aren't worth the bytes they displayed with.

    above by fourb's

Ok, write out a list of things which you want me to do and I will do my best to follow them to the letter.

If Ortiz goes 3-4, you do enough talking for the whole board.  I don't make stuff up about Ortiz.  Possibly the tv you watch games on  has him 6 for 7 this series?

edit:  too funny, I did not even realize you were responding to a post during the Philly series.  Since then he got a homer in the little league sized satdium but has not been a factor in the New York series.  Possibly tonight he breaks out for two hits.

I don't have to say anything about Ortiz, his performance speaks for itself.

As for you not making anything up, care to tell us again how Ortiz couldn't move as well as your grandmother, in his AAA rehab assignment?

Did you see Papi's nifty pop-up slide at 2B last night on the near DP grounder?

Looks kinda light on the feet.

I wonder if Kuroda is considered a "good" pitcher.

Jack seems to be missing, though....

Kuroda is a good pitcher.  I wish we would have signed him last year when it looked like we had the chance.  He was the best (ahem) value/fit on the market and would have been a great addition.  The fact that the Sox toasted him last night says less about kuroda as a pitcher and more about a dangerous offense that can get you fromn any spot in the order.

    I'd take Kuroda anytime.

Unfortunately, it looked like he was only interested in pitching for the Yankees.

    There's 104 games left.

If Papi plays in 78 of them.

He'd be on pace for this (triple his current numbers):

    117 Games

    489 PAs

    30 HRs

    108 RBIs

If he ends up with about 125 games (plays in 86 of 104):

    520 PAs

    32 HRs

    122 RBIs

I think if Papi ends up with 520 PAs 32 HRs and 120 RBIs, most of us would be a bit surprised after he missed a couple weeks to start the season, and basically had no ST.

    Yup.

I expected him to start off slow and then get hot, as he felt more cofident that his achilles was holding up.

I'm surprised that Jack hasn't checked in yet.

Ortiz got no hits last night. Wink

I expected softy to check in, since Papi did the dishes this morning, it's a night game after morning dishes duty. John is setting him up for an injury or bad night at the plate.

Stick a fork in Papi. He's almost below 1.000 in OPS.

He needs a day off with no dishes either.

The sad thing is.....if Papi gets injured tomorrow Bill would ACTUALLY BE HAPPY.  I honestly can't figure it out.......  How can somebody call himself a fan and think like that?  It really is quite warped if you think about it.......  Then again....he's the same guy that talks about his Dad all of the time......
