used to b, he couldnt throw.. yet he's been gunning out the elites as of late like yesterday. used to b he couldnt call games.. yet he's been keeping ERAs down and calling gems of late. used to b he wouldnt wlak and would strike out with regularity.. not any more! there's noone else out there i would rather have than this switch-hitting masterpiece. his best is still yet to come! see ya lavarnway! ross is now just a guy.. another backup catcher! salty doesnt need much in his diet! salty sox are better than no-salt sox!

According to FanGraphs, Jarrod Saltalamacchia ranks 10th in Wins Above Replacement among catchers with at least 150 plate appearances this year (although three players ranked ahead of Saltalamacchia split time at other positions):

Salty should be in the top 10 of all 30 MLB starting catchers.

7-9th best full-time catcher in the game. As he has been for a while now...regardless of what people kept complaining about.

Still developing and getting better, as he did ALL of last year...when he was FINALLY given a true, full-time, no bs starting gig.

Trading him would be a tragic mistake.
