It was so predictable that at the 2-2 count, the next pitch could have been called a strike...I saw it hit the lower right of the box but alas a ball & 3-2 count. That's when you issue the intentional walk because Aceves so pissed wanted to show he could toss the ball down the middle and he sure did !!!

RS Announcers said this was NOT BV's fault, that bringing Aceves in the 8th was brilliant. He is known to be able to pitch multiple innings. Was there another lefty in the pen v Mauer? If so, that was the mistake.

Tonight was worse....BV absolutely choked and this loss is on him... plus this Aceves closer thing isnt working and hasnt been for a long time... when your closer is zeroing in on a 5.00 era you are in serious trouble

Bringing him in the 8th brilliant?? dont know if thats the word...he did well yes but if that was brilliant then leaving him in against Mauer was a disaster...

Well, then BV could have stalled for time.  That's what Earl Weaver would have done.

On ESPN radio yesterday, where Kay did his weekly shtick with BV, it was mentioned that BV was "about as good" as OJ Simpson at USC. If that's true, he picked the wrong sport, and while on CAA suffered a horrible injury that ruined his career (multiple compund leg fracture). He's also friends with that PS phenom who transferred to USC recently.

I agree w/ u NH but RS announcers are employees of the team so I would expect to hear that.

He didnt need to stall for time, steven. Breslow was ready for the 8th. He brought in Aceves, instead.
