Mark your calendars gentlemen - tomorrow (8/2) is the day the Yankee fade officially begins.  I predict they go 29 - 26 the rest of the way.

Unfortunately, your prediction was very wrong and in fact my fear is last night was the beginning of the end for our Red Sox. Sadly, I predict we will be 3-4 games out of first in the AL East by Sunday night.

Seriously?  Should I go back and start quoting the "nobody ever won an award for being in first in XXX" posts here?   But now you are all school girls for gaining a game?

TO "sindarin-erebor" whoever you may be.....I unfortunately think
your prediction of a 3 game deficit to the Yankees by the end of
the week may come true. The yankees are playing well and will
be gunning for us, with CC pitching one of the games. Hopefully
we will have Lester and Beckett ready to pitch. If we start Wake
in one of those games, it is a loss, because the Yanks will show
no mercy. Youk gotta start getting some timely hits, instead of
pouting at the plate and begging for walks, and the team has
to be really "up" for the Yanks. Hopefully, with the fans behind
us at home in Fenway, we will get some good vibes and the
pitching will hold up. But, we stunk in the opener against the
Indians and I have lost all faith in Lackey and Wakefield. They
just wear out the bullpen . There may be some hope for
Miller, if they have patience with him. He does have an electric
fastball and a nice curve. He has to work his way through the
    bad spots with more finesse.

The Sox and Yanks both have issues but still the best two overall teams in the AL East.  This is why the division will be a toss up until one gives two or three games away when it hurts most.
