Season over after the west coast road trip?

I think it's over after the west coast road trip... now how will the Red Sox ownership/management handle this mess?....Good luck to John Henry, Larry L, Tom W and Theo....

this is an underachieving team so far. i believe the SOX season may be over right now.
time for both TITO and THEO to vacate the premises.
CARL CRAWFORD is going to be a complete BUST(bigger than DOLLY'S).
and those YOUK chants will soon change to BOO chants.
one of the few good starts the SOX are going to get out of SLACKEY and the SOX blew it.

    wait till next year.

The starting pitching is coming around. Four very good outings in a row, 3 runs in 26 innings. Carl Crawford and Youk are too good of players to not come around. You don't really believe this nonsense, but enjoy it while you can.

There is a long way to go and this team is far from out of it.

Spoken like a true 'PinkHat' Red Sox fan, if that...looks like you'll have the rest of the spring and summer to do other things now...have fun!!

Re: Season over after the west coast road trip?

soxdog67...wake up and smell the coffee, dude !!  Did you see
the first Oakland game ??  This team just can't hit. I had to sit
and watch it because I am ever hopeful. The team just has not
been constructed to beat out our biggest rival, the Yankees.
Brian Cashman tailored a team to their bandbox, stealing
Granderson from Detroit, signing Chavez and Martin, and having
6 or 7 guys in the lineup at any one time who can hit the long
ball.  We have a lot of punch and judy hitters. Dustin is a nice
player, but he is no Cano, over the long run. Dustin is ok in
Fenway with the green monster, but he is not gonna hit the
opposite field dingers that Cano will. A Rod can hit them out
anywhere and so can Tex. That's three guys in the lineup who
are possibly gonna do 30 apiece. Can you say the same for
Papi, A Gon and Carl ?  Theo signs lefties for a 380ft. RF fence.
Hello !!!!  Is he kidding ?  I know we play 81 games on the
road. but you just gotta tailor a team to the park. Youk is  a
nice player, but he goes up there tactically looking for walks,
and gets a lot of gap hits.  Bottom line, when we fall behind
by 3 or 4,, we don't have the proportionate # of big bats who
are "equalizers". We might end up having to fight off Tampa
or the Angels for a wild card and that will be a tough go !!

Morning Jete, My heart bleeds for you guys. Tongue out Wink

There is a long ways to go. At least the sox starting pitching seems to be coming around. Salty was catching Lackey, which is also encouraging.

I do not think any team in the East is going to run away with it - The Sox and Yanks are having trouble on the road - the Jays and O's are not good enough the Rays could be an interesting team - they could steal it.

Re: Season over after the west coast road trip?

i had a premonition about this year; about how badly the SOX WOULD FAIL.
in past years i purchased the MLB package from my cable company here in upstate NY.
because of my premonition, which appears to be accurate, i passed on the package and saved $150.00. so, yes, i will find something else to do this spring and summer. however, just to keep the rest of you honest, i will continue to post.
i guess how badly the SOX flounder will determine the immediate future of the THEO/TITO show. it's been my experience that most shows tend to deteriorate after 5 years. i think 8 years is long enough, probably too long.

Re: Season over after the west coast road trip?

TO DEL 2006, YOU'RE RIGHT , OF COURSE, BUT
THE THEO APOLOGISTS WILL TRY TO SHUT YOU
UP !! THAT FIRST OAKLAND GAME WAS AN UTTER
DISGRACE. THE TEAM JUST CAN'T HIT WITH ANY
POWER. WE MADE BRETT ANDERSON LOOK LIKE
STEVE CARLTON. THE GM JUST DID NOT PUT
TOGETHER A SQUAD THAT HAS DEEP POWER. WE
ARE LEFTY HEAVY WITH STATION TO STATION
HITTING...A BIG PROBLEM WHEN WE FALL BEHIND..
WHICH WILL HAPPEN, WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR
NOT. SOME TEAMS ARE BUILT WITH COME FROM
BEHIND POWER LIKE THE YANKS , RANGERS, AND
ANGELS, OFFENSIVELY. WE ARE NOT. THERE ARE
TOO MANY SOFT SPOTS IN THE LINEUP.
WHY CRAWFORD ?? IN FENWAY, HE WILL BE
USELESS. HE HAS NO DEEP POWER AND THE GOOD
SCOUTING TEAMS WILL JUST PUT A SHIFT ON
HIM, AS THEY DO NOW TO PAPI AND AGON ~
SALTY WAS NOT A GOOD SIGN, AND NEITHER
WAS CAMERON. TEK IS USELESS OFFENSIVELY.
ELLSBURY HAS A PROBLEM WITH LEFTIES AND
SO DOES DREW !! SO WHERE'S OUR POWER ??

It's funny how some of you jump into conclusion about the Red Sox.

I do not know how some of you had the patience to wait in line at the DMV.  lol
