    Selig to step in?

Selig says that he may have to step in. Is Lucchino going to let his pride get in the way of this deal?

From the espn.com report this morning it is getting close. No money, no Castro, no Lackey to Cubs, no top prospects. So it will be a bunch of average low end Cubs farmhands. Theo is already bringing his old management club back together. Has Hoyer on board.

I know. At this point, if the deal is going to get done just do it already. I think Lucchino feels like he needs to come out on top and take a top prospect away from Theo's new team. Lets face it, a GM isnt worth a top prospect.

To be honest, I'll be pist if the Sox get crap out of this deal.  If they're going to get squat prospects I say take more money and use it to send Slackey somewhere.

I agree. It's useless if they get some B prospect. If thats the case they should have just gotten it our of the way 5 days ago and taken the cash so that they didnt look so foolish.

The Cubs position is LL is asking too much for a trade not involving a player. The Sox feel they are releasing a GM that has won two World Series. Theo is trying to get the band back together. Hoyer has gotten permission from the Padres to go to Chicago. Everyone is lying in wait, this needs to be resolved sooner than later, so everyone can move on.

They will eventually get something in return.  But more likely prospects outside of the top 10 of the Cubs organization.

Maybe Boston just want Theo out of their contract!!!
