Shane's breakout grand slam - Remind you of anything?

Johnny Damon was 2 for 29 (.069) in games 1 to 6 before busting out in game 7.

Anyone remember Mark Bellhorn?   2004- Mark Bellhorn led the league with 174ks, a team record.  batted .091 in the division series, hit .150 in the first 5 games of ACLS.  Tito dropped him from second to  ninth in BO. Armchair managers (including me; I learned my lesson) were yelling "bench".

Deciding 3 run homer to beat Yankees 4-2 in game 6 (schilling pitching)

8th inning game 7 solo shot, sealing win

homerun in game 1 of series against cards (game winning)

2 run double with 2 outs in game 2 providing lead.

Thank God for patient, loyal managers.

Good account about Bellhorn, Piersall.  However, Bellhorn may have stayed in the lineup not so much because of Francona's patience, but because his replacement would have been Pokey Reese.  Loved watching Reese in the field, but putting him in the lineup never would have been considered an offensive upgrade.
