BOSTON (WHDH) -- Tito's tell all will be out two months earlier.

The book, titled, "Terry Francona: The Red Sox years" will be released February 5.

It was originally set to hit store shelves in May.

According to the Globe, the publisher decided to move up the publishing date when the Cleveland Indians named Francona as the team's new manager

    Hmm pete A said 1/22

    why not xmas ?

not sure what getting the job has to do with the release date

do you think the ending changed once tito got the job

No, I doubt it was ever too scatching, zac. it's not Titos style and if he hadn't gotten the Clevleland job, he was looking to get one, at some point. If it was originally scheduled to be released in May, they weren't going for Christmas season to begin with. Sounds more like they were aiming for baseball season, but decided any controversy it may cause should die down by then, now that he has a managerial position. The publishers probably moved it up as much as possible.

Who knows?  You may have a point, but then again, maybe they couldn't get it to market and marketed on time.  It could also be that January to spring training is a good time to release a baseball book given there's a lull in activity between hot stove action and spring training and less happening to interest general sports fans.  Plus, it's freakin' cold in most of the targeted markets and a good time to snuggle up with a book.

    Wow!

I've never seen so much thought put into a book release date.

    For good reason...

         I see your point.

Zac should make it easier for the slow among us.

Oh well, perhaps Amazon.com won't have it on 1/22. Who knows, but let's argue about that detail.

Let's hope that the book will cause dissension among Red Sox fans. In any event, it will be a good read, even for a die-hard Yankee fan like Zac, Perkins, Babe,  or TWM. After all they don't read anything about the Yankee since they are obsessed with bneing here.

It is even a bonus if it divides Red Sox fans and stimulates debate and argument here. That would be great for the forum. The forum depends on conflict and whining, thus any gossip or innuendo that the book creates will be great for this forum. This is why Zac started this thread.

[/QUOTE] or...........some will just choose to read it as an interested baseball fan and skip silly conflict theories...

Speaking of books, back in 2005, I waited in line for three hours to get Johnny Damon's autograph for his new book.  This was at a Barnes and Nobles store in Manhattan.  Less than a year later, he signed with the Yankees.  LOL

    'The forum depends on conflict.'

You are a fascinating study Pike.

While it is true that conflict does seem to be an integral, and sometimes annoying, aspect of the forum, what is absolutely clear as day is that YOU depend on conflict.

You can't seem to post ANYTHING at all that is not contentious, accusatory, conspiratorial, angry.  In fact, you don't even post about baseball.  You only post conflict.  You are the conflict king!
