I don't even need to read it to guess the thesis. That being, that socialism / or a social democratic agenda does little more than spread the misery, as opposed to a rising capitalist tide raising all boats.
One of the most telling quotes by Obama was when he recently appeared on Leno, where he said he could no longer help his 7th grade daughter with math. It rang true, and absolutely frightening. All his knowledge of the economy is strictly theoretical, and has been shaped by the FAR LEFT professors he studied under. Any true discernment would have given a reasonable person pause in swallowing this tripe lock stock & barrel, however it seems clear that's exactly what this president did. This president has outperformed any notion of the once feared Manchurian candidate. Nothing to do with where he was born, simply based on his brainwashing by the most radical of ultra-Liberal intelligencia. White liberal guilt keeps those intelligent enough to see the folly such ultra liberal economic philosophies, which have been disproven time & time again. This is not to say that Capitalism is without major pitfalls, especially in the world of globalization. We need a big tweak to our capitalist system, but jumping ship to adopt a socialist agenda only guarantees misery for millions, especially those toiling in places like Indonesia!
Very sad & dangerous where this president is wanting to take us. I do not impute maliscious motives, simply an economic naivete that is dangerous!
I am certainly not talking about a socialist agenda, nor are the vast majority of the progressives I work with, dog....But doing something about a warming planet in peril, and pervasive poverty, starvation and depredation around the globe is another story...And i do urge you to take a minute or two to actually read the article, dog...
wooops! This is why one should not as-sume to know where you are headed with something without reading. :) LOL
While I could not disagree more, & tend to think the global warming debate misses cyclical & natural climate change, I respect your concerns. Having said that, for the U.S. to acquiese to "necessarily skyrocketing energy prices," (Senator Obama) under the auspices of REALLY affecting change in temperatures world wide, while China & India laugh at us & happily take our jobs, is frankly laughable. Especially in the midst of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression! For this to be at the forfront of the political debate in this country during these PERILOUS economic times is borderline loonacy! Already, we can't compete globally in the economic marketplace, & jobs continue to poor out of this country. Now, with REAL UNEMPLOYMENT well over 10% for the last 4+ years, you guys want to continue beating this drum???? If there were a way to ACTUALLY level the playing field with respect to things like cap & trade, I might listen???? BUT.... One cannot require all countries to play by the same rules.
A more open minded solution would be finding a way to shift production to the U.S, where we already have some pretty stringent environmental laws with respect to manufacturing.
In fact, we have that opportunity right now with clean coal, shale oil, & fracking. Drill, dig, & produce domestic energy CLEANER than those in foreign countries! Does this administration fight FOR or AGAINST this? Clearly, against! & so we continue to buy our foreign oil in the middle east, further polluting our planet & continuing war in the middle east.
Better if we don't see the drilling & war! So much easier to pretend we're adding to a cleaner, cooler EARTH.
Instead it seems this president want so start off the second term with a Cap & Trade pizzing match to give a nod to progressives, when he could make a real dent in global warming & boost our ailing economy!
