i don't think Gomes will be an everday player. we will be paired in a platoon with Nava most likely. maybe Sweeney or Carp if he makes the team.

as long as injuries don't force him to play every day i don't think he will. Ross was signed as a platoon guy but ended up playing everyday due to injuries. If Gomes is used properly we will do just fine.

what?? platoon gomes and SV? both guys who notoriously hit LHP much much better than RHP.... kind of defeats the purpose of a platoon doesn't it?

BDC if you're going to delete the original post you may as well delete the thread.

On second thought now that the ignore button is back just let this stuff go and we'll sort it out.

The OP was decent and nothing offensive about it and they delete it? Strange but unsurprising.

Dumpster was pounded, today. This guy is going to get hammered in the AL East.

2 runs is getting pounded?? besides, it's only ST.... none of it means ANYTHING. it definitely can't be used as a barometer for the regular season.

5 hits and 2 runs in about 3 innings is getting pounded.

I base my projection on how embarrassing Dumpster was for the Rangers. They did not invite him to return.

and you know this how?..... you have a list of all the teams that gave him an offer? same with shane?

    In response to softlaw2's comment:

I know this because of the budgets of the Dodgers and the Rangers. Had they wanted these two bums, they would have retained them.

the Rangers also had the monies to resign Uehara too.... does that make him a bad signing too?

Dumpster's shelling was explained away as "just throwing all fastballs to build armstrength".

And how do you explain away his spring ERA of 2.08 and his WHIP of .69?
