    Peavy looks real good.

except for the Goldschmit HR, hes been lights out.

Peavy has been outstanding. Speaking of lights out , Henry Owens is making his AA debut tonight.  6 innings -  0 runs --   4 hits---    2 walks---- 11 Ks.

I think Owens has passed our other pitching prospects and may be our #3 overall prospect.

    My top dozen...

    1) Bogaerts

    2) Cecchini

    3) Owens

    4) Bradley

    5) Ranaudo

    6) Webster

    7) de la Rosa

    8) Workman

    9) Britton

    10) T Ball

    11) Swihart

    12) Barnes

southpaw777, ...Apology accepted. If I went too far with the battery analogy I'm sorry. These are hot topics we discuss and passions rise quite high when we discuss  them. We'll do a better job of keeping the lid on. Hugh will be watching

been offline since before the trade...i dont like it for all of the stated reasons above....Peavy will be like VMart and be a rental while Iggy like Masterson will be an all-star...

so much for Ben caring about the future

    As always - 100% correct!

I actually think the V-Mart trade will be a good comparison for this one going forward...but I disagree that that's such a bad thing. We got a very fine season and a third out of V-Mart, then got two premier prospects as draft compensation when he left (so much for not caring about the future). The only player we gave up who's turned into anything worth missing is Masterson, and he's actually been extremely inconsistent...he's having a nice season this year and had a nice season in 2011, but his other years in Cleveland were quite mediocre. I suspect that a few of the posters showering him with love in this thread would have spent quite a bit of time bashing him, wanting him DFA'd, etc. if he still pitched for the Red Sox.
