    Why is it Lowe is good enough for the Yankees (pretty successful organization), but not good enough for the Red Sox? The guy has been trying to come back here for years and they keep passing him over.

    The difference is that the Yanks are setting their lineup for the playoffs...something the Sox don't have to worry about.

    I am happy for Lowe, a classy guy, who would have returned to the Sox but somehow the front office doesn't feel he's better than the garbage we have.

    Lucky for him too because he has a chance with the Yankees to get another ring !!!

    Duquette would have brought him back if he were Sox GM. Lowe is a class act and I hope he helps his new team in the postseason. I wante to see him return to the Sox--he's certainly better then some of the other crap they throw out there.

    I don't know about that.  From some of the comments I'm reading, he might be Cy Young material.  Of the maybe 120 qualifiers among all MLB SPs, Lowe has the single worst K/W ratio, has a 5.52 ERA, a 1.689 Whip (also the worst in BB), but with a nifty 15.88 ERA over his last 3 starts.

    Ichiro has done little to nothing since joining the Yankees. 17 games, scoring 4 runs, hitting .269 with an OBP of .300. Not exactly very good numbers. Ichiro is a non-factor offensively but still a very solid defensive player. If the Sox had someone with his OBP you'd be complaining if his name wasn't Ichiro.
