For once, we will be getting a high pick in the rule 5 draft, so maybe we can pick off a good player.

If a lot of teams had the same issue the Sox have, then we could get lucky as long as hes good enough to remain on the MLB roster...

If we sign 2-3 FAs, our roster will be further squeezed. We need to look to make some 2 or 3 for 1 deals to improve our quality at the expense of our quantity. Then, we can think about rule 5 pick-ups.

Anthony Ranaudo had a nice game this week in the puerto rico league.  He is one of my comeback players of the year candidates for next year.

A lot of us that have been following the younger prospects for a few years now have been waiting for 2013-14-15 to see some of these kids. WMB made himself known last year and we should get to see a couple more sometime this year. 2014 will showcase even more talent.

The Baseball Prospectus folks seem to be very high on Swihart, Cecchini and Johnson, moreso than Mike Andrews. They also seem to like Bradley as much as I do.

There's also several non top 10 players that could make huge strides next year, some sleepers, and then guys like Linares, A Wilson,  and Hassan.

really, 1-20 is very strong...Obviously not all elite talent, but solid contributers at the MLB level.

glad BC "stood pat" last trade deadline. we could be in much worse shape if we gave up good talent just to get less embarrassed by the end of the season

j/k I know, but I really do like Barnes. I'm kind of hoping he's pitching opening day in Portland.

Some players I think will move up the charts over the next season:

    17) Keury de la Cruz

    19) Jose Vinicio

    27) Travis Shaw

    32) Tzu-Wei Lin

    35) Juan Carlos Linares

Guys who I think can really move up next year(or at least have my eyes on); next to Vinicio are:

    Ty Buttrey

    Manuel Margot

    Simon Mercedes

    Jamie Callahan

    Frank Montas

I think Anthony Ranaudo is a candidate to move back up the charts, and I think it is a make or break year to see what some prospects will give us, like Brandon Jacobs, Sean Coyle, and Drake Britton.
