Depending on the price, Koji Uehara could be a good signing.

1.75 ERA / 0.64 WHIP this year (37 games)
2.35 ERA / 0.72 WHIP in 2011 (65 G)
2.86 ERA / 0.96 WHIP in 2010 (43 G)
Lots of strikeouts, walks no one.
I like the potential here if he's healthy.

Would he be a setup guy?

I like it guys. Bullpen is very strong with a lot of great arms in it. I predict Bard will have a greta year and rebound. I think in a week or two we will have atleast one new starting pitcher maybe 2 on this roster. Very excited about 2013.

if bard and bailey were able to return to form (no small question), a bullpen of bailey, bard, morales, breslow, uehara, tazawa, and miller would be pretty solid. without bailey pitching well there's obviously a huge hole in that spot though. there does seem like there will be a lot of arms available in AAA, including de la rossa, beato, mortensen, melancon et al. so from a numbers standpoint think they'd be fine with one of those guys (or a combo of them) if bard was to implode again, but if bailey is bad out of the gate it could be a real issue. even if bard does return to some sembalnce of himself, probably not a good idea to use him in that closer spot as it seems like it'd asking for trouble. not sure who the alternative is if bailey is bad. tazawa? hopefully not aceves. personally, hope they move on from him, though his versatility is hard to deny.

Good move. One year deal.
