I know that Sweeney has not hit lefties in his career , but it might be worth it to give him a shot in this series. He has been swinging the bat as well as anyone. He surely could not be any worse than what we are putting out there.

I think we have a star in the making in young Middlebrooks. Could mark the end of Youk's tenure.

interviewed him during the pre game...said he had to decide between football and baseball, as many of them do. said he knows he made the right decision. seems so

I said the same thing yesterday, dg.  I pointed out that the knock against Ortiz had been that he couldn't hit lefties either.

See the ball explode off his bat? That kid is already a legend. You don't see that often. One thing we'll have to watch out for is the Jay Bruce syndrome. He was hot as a firecracker when he first came up, hit just like this until the book started to get around about him. WM will have to make adjustments, and THEN we'll find out how good he really is.

Sure , he will have an adjustment period , no doubt. Everyone does. It's not always going to be this easy. But he has done it at every level.

Bobby obviously told him to throw strikes. Quit fooling around. A four run lead. A totally spent bullpen. Felix has to understand what is expected of him tonight.

Is Bradley still in the low minors? I want to see Lavarnway ...... Obviously we aren't going to be a winning team unless we find some miraculous SP so let the kids play and sell/trade off the rest of the bums

We have some pitching down there too that are 2/3 years away. Dump Youk for whatever you can get for him..Trade Beckett end of June..Hope that Crawford can show something whever he gets back and then trade his sorry azz too. Youth movement is what this team needs.Give Ells the money..send Bucholz to the bar....LOL.... I think Gonzo will be fine
