The thing I noticed is that Strop got two quick strikes on him , then tried to get him to chase. Many young hitters would have , but Bradley did not bite. He has a very good approach.

I was reading an interview with him where he said in his freshman year in high school, while he was still in legion ball, he spent the whole year not swinging at anything until he had two strikes because he wanted to be a better 2 strike hitter.

That's good. It shows how serious and determined he is. It is important to be able to hit with two strikes , especially with the Sox system of wanting to work the count.  Like I said before, if the Sox want to send him down for eleven days , I can understand it from a financial point. However , I think he absolutely deserves to be in the opening day lineup.. I guess we will find out by Thursday.

That was an impressive triple against a LH. And he showed decent legs a well. The kid looks for real. The 2011 draft crop looks like the best since at least 2005:

    Barnes

    Swihart

    Owens

    Bradley

    Shaw

    Jerez

    Betts

    Pena

    Kukuk

You could make a strong case for the top 4 there all being in our top 10 prospects overall. And some of the others have at least a change of making it.

Jerez could make some noise now that he's headed for full season ball. The kid had an OPS over 2 in his last year of HS.

Jerez sure looks like a stud. He has a long swing though. It's boom or bust. Superstar or washout. Or anything in between I suppose but until he shows something in MILB he is well down on the list to me. He looks like an excellent athlete though.

Sometimes I think it just comes down to eyesight. Eyesight and hand eye coordination are so important. A guy can look tremendous in HS against a steady stream of fastballs and just can't adjust to pro ball. A player can adjust his swing and even become a good hitter just from technique ( think Veritek who never looked like a natural hitter to me ). Jerez might have the best eyesight in the world for all I know but he is raw as heck still and he has had a good year to show what he has with very little results so far.

He's soxprospects # 57 so far, with near zero pop shown in over 200 rookie league AB:

Yip. Thats what I thought. It looked a lot like the RGIII knee buckle when he tried to corral that fumble on the last play.
