I hear that the Astros may be willing to deal Bill Hall. Do you think Lowrie and Ellsbury would do it?

Hall is in the latter stages of his MLB career. Lowrie and Ellsbury would be in the pool for a potential trade for a solid young MLB RH OF'er like Kemp or Upton.

Hall went 4 for 4 against the Dodgers, and, as a solid platoon/utility player has the glowing vote of confidence from both Tito and Mills. Hall was hated in Boston, but was ready for whatever work Tito gave him. He did not need tired days off, nor extra images for minor injuries.

Ellsbury's OBP is over .360 now and his OPS is sitting around .800.  Hitting home runs, stealing bases, he is doing it all.  He has been one of the best leadoff men in the game this year.

Belllsbury has not completed a year.

Bellsbury was demoted from leadoff at the beginning of the year.

Bellsbury, before the benefit of two horrible pitching performances, had an OBP in the .340's.

Bellsbury is what his career averages say he is (Theo, pay attention)

Bellsbury is getting thrown out with increased frequency

Bellsbury is still a poor defensive CFer

Bellsbury still has a paper arm

Bellsbury has never hit over 9 homers in a single season. He was demoted for swinging for the fences early in the season (4 early HR), and has since raised his OBP and hit only one HR since changing his approach. He'll probably have his first season with low double digit or middle teen homers.

Bellsbury continues to play deep in CF and avoid walls and plays short end of the bat balls on one big hop, paying close attention to his main focus which is his mission to land a gold parachute contract by setting the hood on some foolish GM. Theo shouldn't be that stupid, but look at the 142M for Crawbust. No, 3 weeks in May does not make Crawford a superstar with a 20M a year value.

He is what his career averages say he is, and a smart GM will sell long before contract demanding time.

The biggest myth is that you know anything about baseball.  Geez, you add a lot of intelligent input to the forum.  How many posts are necessary to share your feelings on Ellsbury and Lowrie??  And when you do respond to another post, it still gets backto your feelings on these 2 even when that has nothing to do with the post your replying to.  What's this, your 20th different screen name??  Seriously dude, you have some issues.  I'd consider professional help if I was you.

So every player is what they are in the first two year of their career they can neither improve or get worse? That is what you are saying softy. This is his 4th year and his is approaching 28 which is when the male body is at its physical peak. He is bound to improve like most talent major leaguer.

    Re: Standing Myth Debunking Thread

Another silly OP from softlaw SSR.  He claims myths that, for the most part, no one ever espoused, and then says there aren't true.   Kind of like claiming that Ted Williams loved the Boston press or that Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz weren't really that effective hitting 3d and 4th for the Sox.  So I hereby debunk both of those myths.

The Ellsbury fixation continues to amaze.  He is having a terrific year--third on the team in rbi's (with 3 more than Ortiz), tied with Gonzalez and for 5th in the AL in runs scored, leads the AL in SB's, plays almost errorless ball (2 errors since he came up in 2007) in the outfield, and has definitely nailed down the leadoff spot for what now seems to be the best offense--or close to it--in MLB.  Oh, and he has played in every game to date--same as Gonzalez--and no other Sox player has.

And softlaw SSR wants to dump him because he ain't Ted Williams or Ichiro or whoever.  Go figure.

    Re: Standing Myth Debunking Thread

Wait what i'm seeing here is that you want to trade Ellsbury and Lowrie for Kemp or Upton? Aren't Ells kemp and Upton the same type of player?  Kemp is the top of the pact out of the three. You're acting like Upton hasn't had struggles. Uptons best BA season he hit .300 in 129 games... That was also his best OBP and OPS season. Upton also runs lazily after fly balls sometimes. and has an attitude problem. Believe me i live in Florida. He's hated here no rays fans like him. I could ask 1000 ppl in florida and 9999 of them would say they would much rather have C.C over B.J.  This is aiming to be Kemps best  season. Ellsbury is doing what we have him here to do. Get on base and steal bases. He is in second in stolen bases and has better than league average for  AVG, SB, HR, and  RBI's for CF. Same with Lowrie except for his SB's.
in 2008, in  81 games  Lowrie had 25 Doubles. Youk has never played over 150 games  and his most doubles were in 2008 with 145 games he had 43 doubles. In 161 games A-Gon hit 46 doubles that was the most doubles hes had in a season. Lowrie would be avging more doubles a season. Kemps had 38 doubles in 155 games. and Upton has hit 38 doubles in 155 games. Which means Lowrie is avging more doubles than most these guys. Which means Lowrie is doing his job. Hit for power and get on for the home run hitter.!

This is a flat out lie!  He was not hated in Boston.  he was a perfect utility guy.  he has nothing to do with your Ellsbury and Lowrie rants.  I still don't get the point.  Jacoby is playing really well.  Can't that be enough.  Does he have to be evaluated at bat to at bat?  A leadoff hitter can go 0-4 you know and it is not the end of the world. I thought he would be a solid major league player and that is exactly what he has become.  I never pegged him as the next anything.  He is growing into the leadoff hitter role and now seems very comfortable.  Why can't that be enough?  As fas as Lowrie, Tito gives all his guys a day here or there.  Why does Lowrie getting a day have to be an issue?
