He leaves when its 3-0 the other team, and somehow that's his fault...really, wow, short of a shutout, what else would have liked from him tonight.

I was in Los Angeles for tonight's game, and it was hilarious watching the Dodgers get pounded. Never had a problem with them, but Gonzalez and Beckett just became so unlikable this season. Add in Hanley and it's tough to cheer for the Dodgers, even if I do like the new ownership group.

Well, he did bat twice, once with the bases empty and once with 2 men on.  If he had only homered both times, he would have been ahead 4-3Laughing

Liking someone and winning don't get along often. Sox fans hate JD Drew, Josh Beckett, Manny, Lugo, Crisp, Ellsbury (any time he's on the DL)--guys who have all played on a WS winner (or two), and AGON, which makes you and others utter fools for buying into all the off-field nonsense.

Why should any Red Soz fan care about what Beckett did against Colorado last night?

He plays for another team now and never will be a Red Sox player again.  Leave him alone.

He's now someone else's Beckett---it's just reading a box score to see how it went. I wished him good luck watching him on the MLB Network but glad the C & B are now behind RS N. Frankly the guy that I will root for is Punto--I hope he has a successful run in LA and I will hope for the best for CC. AGon is a great hitter.

I think Beckett's best days are behind him unless he can hook up with a pitching tutor that was successful, like he was, and had a career makeover at age 32-36.

" Beckett was two outs short of a quality start."

Seems like a pretty good summary of his dilemma of late. Bottom line is, he hasn't put in the work a guy like Schilling did when he lost his speed. Until he puts in that work he has not shot.

It's fantastic to be rid of him, all due respect to his 2007 contributions.

Weaker league, he will do better. I was curious what he was hitting on the radar gun as far as his fastball.

He barely topped 91 and threw a slew of breaking balls.

    HE'S DONE!

The lineup the Rockies put out there last night would have lost to the LL WS winners!

Have to agree with the OP although his curve was better than it has been recently for the Sox.

He only gave up 3 because Mattingly brought is lefty specialist to get the last guy out in the 6th with Rockies on 2d and 3d.

My expectation is he will pitch better because it's the NL and because he will feel as though he has a new lease on life.

We'd probably be closer to the playoffs right now if we got 5 1/3 IP with 3 ERs every start.

Agree, but we also know he could not do that this year in Boston.  As I said above, he has a new lease on life and is now in the NL, which short term should benefit him.

it's an even year.  even year Beckett = meh.
next year is when you want him.
    odd year beckett = W's

oh, and i would've taken 5-1/3 innings 3 earned from him every start this year.
but let's not forget he gets an automatic out everytime thru the lineup now in the NL......

    Short of a shutout?
    1. How about giving up 2 runs.
    2. How about giving up 1 run.
    3. How about going more than 5 1/3 IP with 108 pitches
